Under the motto "Libraries build bridges for a sustainable future", a meeting of library representatives from Europe with the newly elected Members of Parliament, organised by Public Libraries 2030, took place on 5 November at the European Parliament.
The Bulgarian libraries were represented by Kalina Ivanova, President of the Board of the Bulgarian Library Association and Spaska Tarandova, Executive Director of the Bulgarian Library Foundation. Important topics on the agenda of public libraries in the country - the construction of a national digital library under the Recovery and Sustainability Plan and the need for renovation and construction of new libraries meeting the demands of modern users - were discussed with the MEPs from the EPP - Andrey Kovachev, Emil Radev and Ilia Lazarov.
