On September 10, 1919 was founded the first sports club in the old capital.
A group of enthusiastic young people from the Zhelezarska mahalla (from the monument of the hanged to the city garden) decided to form a sports club. For this purpose on 10.IX.1919 they gathered in the city garden and unanimously decided to form a sports club, which they called "Youth Sports Club". Asparuh Brussev, Konstantin Antonov, Ivan Antonov, Vasil Bonchev, Nikola Iliev, Rasho Rashkov, Mosko Moskov, Todor Milushev, Bobby Gazurkov, Nikola Velchev and Anton Dimitrov are considered the founders of the club.
A meeting was held to elect a temporary board of trustees consisting of: chairman Asparuh Brussev, head of sports Nikola Iliev, host Bobby Gazurkov and secretary-treasurer Konstantin Antonov. The date of the general meeting for the election of the new management is set, the club colour is also determined: horizontal stripes yellow and black for the jerseys and white pants, black socks.
Marino Field is chosen as the playground, and with his own labor he begins its preparation. Funds are raised to procure directories for the gates. Asparuh Bosev gives a torn ball, a rule book for the game is procured. The pitch is outlined according to the rule book and training begins. The game is played every day from 2 o'clock until late at night. A room in Georgi Kardjiev's home is used for storage of the club's property for a few years free of charge, and then Hristo Petrov's shop behind the DNA is rented - a comfortable and spacious room furnished with lockers for the teams, a library, etc. In a short time, the club's membership increases to 50-60 and grows every day. Since the club has no funds, all players get their teams: jerseys and shoes with their own funds.
Having trained enough, many of the ISC players want to compete against teams from another city. A meeting is being arranged with the Otto Gabrovo Sports Club. The first meeting of the Veliko Tarnovo team was as a guest and ended in a draw 2:2.
In a short time the ranks of the Youth Sports Club grew considerably and football in the town acquired a mass character. In the spring of 1920 the YSC already had seven teams. These teams subsequently became inexhaustible sources of football recruits for the first team.
